A Very Long and Overdue Eclectic Post!

OMG! 2 WHOLE WEEKS!!!! I've been gone for 2, very long weeks. Oh how i've missed this!
Just a forewarning this is going to be a LONG post with LOTS of pictures and some rambly-rambles.

First, I want to show you a polish I had on about a week ago. This is Malt by Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure.
I honestly was not a fan of this nailpolish. It was more the brush than the formula. These polishes have the same brush as the Sally Hansen Insta Dri which I also hate. It's a thick, wide, and flat brush with a sort of pointed tip, and the brush also distributes way to much polish. I have to be constantly wiping the excess off. I have really small nails, and the brush is just to difficult for me to use. So, unfourtunately, I will be buying any more of either of these nailpolishes.
**on a side note I was really happy that I got this on sale at Target for $3. So if you like these check out your Target clearance section.

Now, I have for you a polish from this week. It's one of my favorites from the peach/coral family. It is Peachy #405 by Revlon Top Speed.

These are with flash
I love this color! It is the perfect peach/coral. Everytime I use it I fall back in love! I only need two coats, and these revlon Top Speed really do dry fast. I love it!

This is with lamp light

This is with no flash and flourescent light

-----So just an FYI... I hate my cuticles! I swear I have abnormal cuticles that grow at superspeed. When I used to get my nails done, the asian ladies would always say "you have so much skin, so much skin", then show me all the cuticle skin, and I would get so grossed out! If anyone reccommends a good cuticle remover let me know!! :)-----

OK! So now I want to show yall some quick pictures I snapped of my little-baby collection. I currently only have about 57 nailpolishes.

These are all my nudes, browns and metallics. All names will come in a later post soon!

These are all my greens and blues. Probably my favorites of my entire collection.

These are all my pinks, reds, and purples.

Corals and oranges.
Here's a picture of my entire baby collection. It might be huge to my friends and family, but my collection compared to other bloggers... is shameful.

I pinky promise I will never stay away this long again I will be a commited blogger, and will have some new polishes soon.
Later Y'all!

NOTD and a Mini Review

Soooo, I literally just finished my nails, and I thought 'great time for a post'. I tried a new one and it sparked a little rant in my head that I just gotta get out! BUT first heres the color: It is Sea Spray by China Glaze. It's a really pretty light-blue/grey. I looked in my collection to see if i had anything close to it, and the greys I had were too dark, and the light-blues, too blue. This color is a happy 'In-between'. Also, this color was a one coater for me, but not fabulous to apply. This is what got my mind going!

Here's some without flash. In this instance, I feel like the pictures with flash are more true to color than without flash.

NOW for my rant! I only own about four or five China Glaze nailpolishes, and I have to say im not a huge fan. Particulary with this polish, I had lots of trouble with the brush. It was pretty stiff, and I had to constantly wipe off the excess polish because the top portion of the brush holds so much polish. I would be painting my nails, and all of a sudden, a huge dot of polish is on my nail! But other than the brush, I have been having a hit or miss situation with China Glaze. The very first one I bought was For Audrey and I loved it! So that made me want to buy more, but the next one I bought called Flip Flop Fantasy (a really pretty neon-pink) was a huge let down, and the next one I bought was Sexy and the City, and I loved it! So-on and so-on it has gone on like this, and I dont know if i'll be repurchasing any China Glaze polishes, but who knows! I just saw swatches of their Fall 2011 Metro Collection and maybe i'll give them a few more tries.

Sorry for the rant! :)
I know I've only been doing NOTD post but I promise im going to start changing it up a bit soon!

Thanks Yall!

Nail of the Day

Hello all,

This is Shifting Power by Essie. This beautiful, metallic-gold literally looks like I poured melted gold on my nails! So Pretty! Rage by Orly was my first metallic, and I fell in love! Afterwards I bought Copper Penny by Revlon then Shifting Power by Essie. Now all I need is a silver, and im all set in the metal department! Shifting Power is very sheer, I really needed two coats (probably could have used three), but I was in a rush to get in line for the midnight showing of the final Harry Potter movie (which by the way was AMAZING and im OBSESSED)! The boyfriend suggested I do a red nail along with the gold for the Gryffindor house colors.

These are with flash. I feel like the true color only shows with flash.

Here's one without flash.

I have to say, before I started the blog I hated metallic colors. Now im very fond of them, it's a happy change of heart!

Later Yall!

Nail of the Day

IM BACK! :)
I felt so bad not posting for a whole week, but I have two looks for you today!

On Saturday I did Essie's Exposure (which, I might say, I got for 99 cents at Ulta!), and Revlon's White on White with Ulta brand's Pinata glitter:

I wasn't too fond of this look when I first finished it, but it grew on me after having it on a while. Exposure by Essie is the absolute perfect Barbie pink shade! Its a cool-toned pink with purple undertones. It went on really well, two coats was great. Revlon's White on White was bad, but I expected that since it is a white. It took three coats to make it opaque. Lastly, Ulta brand's Pinata was a serious let down! The gel of glitter was so thick, and there wasn't much glitter per swipe.

Here's a closer shot of the glitter:

Now, I did my nails today with a nailpolish I wasn't too excited about trying because I felt like it resembled one I already have but, WOAH! Once I put it on it blew my mind! Here, ladies and gents, is Thataway by China Glaze:

It is a beautiful orange with lots of shimmer to it. I feel like it might almost be metallic its so shimmery. I love it! I definetly needed two coats, one coat was see through. Two thick coats were perfect.

The color I thought it resembeled is Brazilliant by Essie. Here's a picture:

**not my picture

They are very different. Brazilliant is alot darker with gold shimmer to it. Thataway is just full of shimmer, not just flecks of it like Brazilliant. Thataway has to be my hands down favorite orange.

Nail of the Day and a Comparison

HI!! So I changed up my polish, and decided to try a trend i've been seeing lately. But I also did it because I couldn't choose which polish to use! I used Gumdrop by Orly with Halleys comet also by Orly on my ring finger.
Here's with flash:

Here's without flash:

I really wanted to get a close up of Halleys Comet. Its a really pretty gel glitter, and I have it layered over Gumprop because it isn't very opaque. I think if I wore it alone i'd have to do 3-4 coats.

Now I want to show a comparison; as soon as I started to apply it, I felt like it looked exactly like a couple colors I already had!
In order left to right: Orly-Gumdrop, O.P.I-Mermaids Tears, China Glaze- For Audrey, Essie-Mint Candy Apple.

Gumdrop is a perfect mix of the blue in For Audrey and the green in Mermaids Tears, and a darker version of Mint Candy Apple. I like it, but I think I could do without it.

Later y'all!

Nail of the Day

I bought so many colors this weekend I couldnt decide which one to try, so i left it up to the boyfriend and he chose Smooth Sailing by Essie.

Here it is:
Its a beautiful blue with silver shimmer. It was a dream to apply I did two coats, I think if I want it more dramatic I would do three. I dont even know what kind of blue it is, a mix between a royal blue and periwinkle blue

Heres a bottle picture:

My boyfriend actually liked this color alot and he's pretty picky when it comes to my colors. LOL!
Thats all for now, im going to change polish tomorrow so expect more NOTD!
See yall later!

Nailpolish Haul!!

Well hello there! So I had a friend who went out of town, and I watched her cats for her. Being the lovely friend that she is, she thanked me by getting me a giftcard to Ulta where I happily spent it all on nailpolish, of course. Since it was fourth of July weekend, Ulta was having some great sales and I got some great deals on polishes i've be wanting.

Here's a group shot of them:
Order left to right: Essie Smooth Sailing, Essie Splash of Grenadine, Essie Shifting Power, Ulta brand Pinata, Orly Hailley's Comet, Orly Gumdrop, Orly Rage.

Close up of the Essie colors:
Smooth Sailing is a beautiful blue with silver shimmer in it. I dont have many blues and this one really caught my eye. Splash of Grenadine is a unique color to my collection, and in general its a really pretty purple pink creme. Shifting Power is a gold and, it literally looks like liquid gold! I love it! Ever since I got Rage by Orly and Copper Penny by Revlon, I have been loving the metallics.

This is Ulta brand Pinata Yada Yada
This glitter was soo hard to photograph but I love it! This is the first glitter in my collection. I had been wanting Happy Birthday by Debborah Lippman but I couldnt make my self spend that much on a glitter, then I was on the hunt for Party of 5 by Wet and Wild, but that was sold out everywhere and this one seemed like a happy middle between the two.

Heres a close up of the Orly colors:
Halleys Comet is so beautiful its a green/blue color with silver and gold shimmer. Just by looking at it though, it doesnt look very opaque but I am very excited to try this one out for summer. Gumdrop is a minty-green pastel green. It's darker than Mint Candy Apple by Essie, but Lighter than Mermaids Tears by O.P.I. Im going to have to do a comparison because they're all my favorite colors. Lastly, there's Rage. I already own this color, but it was buy-two-get-one-free, and my bestfriend's birthday is coming and she loves this color!

I can't wait to try all of these new colors and show y'all. Lots of Nail of the Day posts coming up!
Later y'all!
